Philips - A shocking company

I recently purchased this Philips TV and was incredibly happy to receive it. Imagaine my dismay when that evening it started to go faulty, and switched off on it's own accord. I phoned the suppliers who told me to contact the Philips repair centre directly, and they organised to collect the TV that week. I was then informed the part was not available and they would have to send off for it. 2 months later the TV was returned, and to make matters worse, I was issued with the delivery charge for the shipment of TV during it's repair. I got a belated apology (sort of) when I complained about it, and I now have a second hand TV. For the sake of £40 an apology and a gesture you have made a sworn enemy. Congratulations Philips, your greatest success is losing a customer (who spent this kind of money on a TV) and will be happy to tell everyone about this story. I would love to say the TV is good quality, but I feel sick just looking at it.

Got this tv today and is worth evry penny. Speakers are excellent and they picture is excellent.

All in all, i would recommend this to anyone wanted a smallish flat screen!!

Excellent value TV

I'm new to LCD television and HD so I was a bit nervous spending a lot of money on this product. Having spent a lot of time looking around dealers I was tempted to go for the Sony 42" but in the end this tv was available for considerably less and with a 5 year warranty from a leading department store who won't be beaten on price. I don't regret it now - as other reviewers have said, the picture quality is superb and there is a wide variety of adjustment for both picture and sound. The screen size is big without dominating the room and delivers a quality picture even in strong sunlight. The set itself looks great.
My only slight disappointment is that there is a buzz from the speakers when you have the bass levels up high - but this may be because I am using a table top stand on a glass tv stand at present. It doesn't matter to me as I use a home cinema surround sound system most of the time. I would recommend this tv to anyone looking for a high quality lcd tv - just try out the sound in the shop before you buy!
