Dodgy chargers

Two months after buying one of these both chargers for the additonal handsets failed within days of each other. Got a refund.

The phones were pretty poor anyway. Handset volume was too low, there was an annoying 2 second delay between answering a call and the voice circuit activating and there is no way to sync the phone directory to the 2 additonal handsets. It also has no clock, so you have no idea when answer phone messages were left. Expensive and useless.

Philips have lost their way. Bought a Panasonic KXTG7123ES for the same money instead. It's light years ahead.

Nice Phone For the Price

The phone arrived this morning, even with free delivery, it arrived well before the estimate.

Firstly, if you want this phone, buy it here, I purchased the exact same phone from a mail order catalogue for £92.00!(It had to be returned because of a fault) I felt quite sick when I saw the price on Amazon!

It is easy to set up and I got it going within minutes. As a DECT phone it works well, but if you want fancy ringers, etc you might be disappointed. It has a phonebook feature caller display and a speaker phone. Even as just a DECT phone, it is well worth the money, in my opinion.

Where it comes into its own is the voip feature. Please remember it only works with Windows Live Messenger. If you use the voice feature of this program, then you will like this. Make sure you have WLM installed and the phone will pick it up. (I am using XP Home, I can't speak for other operating systems.) Once it is all set up, you can talk to your contacts, wherever you are. Even via the speakerphone. If you are away from the computer, it tells you if a contact comes online, via the screen and with optional sound too.

The only downside is that it doesn't work with other voip programs, but for £19.99, it is a minor quibble!

Looks good but.........First major problem is the damn thing is too quiet, the mic rubbish and the speaker too which sort of renders the tool ie a phone to be 100% useless. Plus if you have a power cut then errrrr no phone, what would have been nice is to have battery back up in the base unit too :-) Had mine from argos £23 for two in a sale, but not worth a £5 in my books very disapointed :-(

Disappointed

Have had this set of phones for a couple of months.
Packed with features and the spec. seemed very good.
However there are a few very annoying characteristics about the phone. The volume of the received call is too low, cannot be heard if there is any sort of external noise. The display is difficult to read - contrast and backlight insufficient. Very fiddly - apart from making and receiving a call, almost anything else you want to do has to be navigated through a convoluted and non intuitive menu. Answerphone does not give an audible time and date of messages.
My old Panasonic was better.

this digital cordless phone is really awesome..... i had a cordless answering machine and its philips too and i've been using it for nearly 4 years and it's still working, i just need an up-to-date cordless phone and i find this item amazing...
aside from being cheap, it's feature in and out is really classy.... highly recommended...

rubbish phones

Bought a set of 3 with ans machine about 3 months ago. The set up was clumsy - the sim card reader not going accross to all the phones simply.

Then once we started to use them the menu was confusing and really slow - a 1 sec time delay on scrolling sometimes. Often a number that I knew was in the phone book would not appear.

Then after about 1 month when we picked up the phone to answer it would take a few presses before the anseer function worked.

Finally after 3 months they gave up working altogether.

I strongly recomend you don't buy this phone - total waste of money.

Lovely answer phone

I bought the phone (for £28 at that time) and I'm very happy with it. It is easy to use, the colour display is nice and clear and it shows phone numbers up to 14 digits. If you use Caller ID it shows the name and the number quite quickly. Sound is very good on the handset and it is comfortable to hold and use. The phone appears white in the picture but it actually has a silver face with white back cover. Easy to use - one touch answer machine doesn't delete messages that you didn't listen to yet (clever). It has many easy to use functions like SMS, recording Memos on the answer phone, or set it to answer only but not record messages if you wish to be left alone. You can even use the baby-sit mode if you have 2 handsets. A little red flashing light indicates that you had a missed call or a new massage. Ring tones are very pleasant and you get a fair choice as well. I couldn't buy a better phone for the money and it is a competition to more expencive phones on a market.

A Great phone package

I am very pleased with my purchase. Easy to use menus and easy to set-up, the phone book only needs entering once as you can transfer it to the other handset. The second handset can be placed in any room as it doesn't require a phone socket. The only reason I didn't give the full five stars is due to the lack of ring tones available, they are at best suited to accompanying a set of christmas lights, there isn't even a standard normal ring tone. Apart from this it is a great product.

Excellent phone - ADSL is NOT a problem

Despite what the other two reviews say here, I am happily using my Phillips Onis 200 with ADSL, without any problems. I was very nearly put-off buying it by the other two reviews which claimed that the Onis 200 was incompatible with ADSL. After doing further research, I found that the people having problems had failed to install a microfilter with their Onis. (Alternatively, if you have the BT engineer installed version with the replaced master socket, you don't need the microfilter as all the other BT sockets will be filtered from the ADSL master socket anyway).

The long and short of it is that this is an excellent phone - Good sound quality, solid build, a good looker, reasonable key feel, an adequate menuing system and a nice overall functionality set. I looked long and hard at all the alternatives before buying this phone. I went to 'The Link' and looked at every DECT phone they had and also read as many on-line reviews as I could find. Before doing this, I had bought the 'BT On-Air 1100 Executive' at 89.99 GBP direct from BT, which was truly awful. I sent it back after I soon found one of the keys getting stuck. In addition, the BT phone had the most unintuitive menuing system I have ever seen and the display was horrible. Thank goodness BT have a good returns policy!

Overall - Thoroughly recommended. It was even 20 GBP cheaper than the awful BT phone at 69.99 GBP - bargain!
