The only problem I have had with it is trying to use it with batteries. The first time I put them in and used the CD it was fine but on the second occasion it just would not work......there seems to be a problem switching from mains to battery.....it is as if something does not connect properly. I did want this option as I wanted to use it in the garden. I will try again and see if I can get it to work, if not I will return it.

I am pleased with this product. It is basic but then at the price one would not expect anything else. It is not a system you would have as your main one in the lounge but in the kitchen or bedroom it is fine.The only problem I have had with it is trying to use it with batteries. Easy to use
I'm happy with this product, until now was great and simple to use. Drag and drop which is very good for me. The battery last for 2-3 days if you are listening music at a moderately volume and it is to charge the battery (in 3-4 hrs it is charged).The only inconvenient thing are the headphones which the mp-3 had when you purchase it, don't give the right volume which you think you might have from it. If you change the headphones it is great to listen the music from it. Inside the menu of it has an option named"playlist to go" which it is quite awesome and you can add there the best song and your favourite ones. This it is my feedback until now in case I will discover something else I will add it to my review.5

To rewind you press the edge of the rocker lens but it can't cope with this after about the sixth time and skips to the beginning or even another track. This means I have to take it out to look at the OLED display - impossible to read on a sunny
day even with your back to the sun. Winding to where I lost my listening point is time consuming as there is no progressive acceleration of the forward/rewind.
I gave up, sent it back and got a Sansa Clip instead with which I am very happy.
Other aspects of the SA2825 are good - clear sound quality, easy to load it with audio files - just drag and drop.
The problems I have encountered may be irrelevant for other users so you need to consider what kind of use you will have for it.

Controls and display unsatisfactory for my use.
I got the SA2825 to listen to BBC podcasts while walking my dog. Because many of my podcasts are factual I quite often rewind a bit. I don't want the inconvenience of fumbling for the unlock/lock switch every time I want to rewind so I leave it permanently unlocked which means I need a player that is not prone to skip. I carry the SA2825 in a trouser pocket but just lifting my leg to cross a stile can make it skip.To rewind you press the edge of the rocker lens but it can't cope with this after about the sixth time and skips to the beginning or even another track. Brilliant
Very impressed with this kit. Would have been 5* if they had made a better clip at the back for it. Apart from the flimsy clip its a brilliant bit of kit. The cover is excellent and protects it well. The sounnd is very good. Very easy to transfer music onto and easy to use. The best feature for me is the battery life. I have had mine now for nearly a month and its still on 2 bars from 4. I use it for 45mins everyday on full volume, wipes the floor with my old ipod which needed charging every 2nd day. Pure value for money7

This is a great product, very easy to use, easy to understand and the music is really clear. The one feature that I wanted that was not clear in the advertising, is that I wanted to be able to delete songs directly off the MP3, which this product does. If I had to offer any criticism is that I find it difficult to download videos as I don't understand how to format them. All in all a great product.9

Rubbish!!
I have awarded this product one star as I have to in order to leave any form of feedback, otherwise I would have awarded none! I don't believe it deserves it! The software is undoubtedly the most complicated and utterly user unfriendly I have ever experienced! After deleting tracks from the player it has proved impossible to put them back on again at a later date; the WMP11 software it uses continuously states that they are already loaded (they're not, I deleted everything on it). I bought this as a birthday present for my wife who wanted to use it whilst running to lose weight. She cannot manage this device, hasn't lost weight and it's all my fault!!Thank you PHILIPS!!

In this day and age anyone who punts out a CD player that can't play continuous or segued tracks without stopping, thinking for two seconds then picking up where it left off should be shot! It was acceptable in the early days of the CD as a medium, but now? In 2008? Ruins any listening pleasure that you might get from a live or segued album etc.
To put the cherry on top the CD player also clips the front of tracks so that you don't get to hear the very beginning of a song. It's about a quarter beat, and disconcerting enough on a musical intro, but on a vocal intro it effectively means you lose the first word. Try Elton John's Sweet Painted Lady on Goodbye Yellow Brick Road."I'm back on dry land once again" or according to Philips"(BLANK)back on dry land once again".
Oh, it went back to the seller of course after Philips advised me that that's how it's manufactured and didn't seem to give a monkey's uncle about it. It's practically not fit for purpose in my opinion.
End of purposeful rant - don't touch it with a barge pole if you have a single musical bone in your body!

Wow! What a monumental pigs ear Philips made of this one! Got it as a present and it suited me perfectly. Looked ok, sounded more than ok considering the price range. DAB tuned in with no problem - didn't even have to run the horrible plastic t-bar ariel to get a reception. It worked scrunched up behind the unit. The radio can be a little crackly but keep fiddling with the wire aerial and you'll get there. The nature sound choices for the alarm are really nice with the babbling brook, waves and birdsong. These can be played as background noise as well as being set for an alarm so are a bonus feature for those of you that like to have a quiet time with some relaxing sounds.
All in all I'm very pleased with this product and the speakers are fab for what I require.

Just what I wanted!
I was looking for an Ipod docking station that did a bit of everything and this is it! Will not hold Charge
I had bough this item 5 days ago and have just returned it. I had initially bough this item to keep me company on cycles and in the gym. The instructions dictate that one should charge for at least 3 hours on the first charge and afterwhich you should observe a green light on the front to indicate a full charge. I noticed first of all that the battery had gone completely dead after around 2 hour 20 minutes or so which suprised me. One of the problems I had with this player is that there is no way of knowing how much battery life you have at any given point so the player literally shuts down when it has not enough power to continue. I re-charged the player that afternoon but it was dead again on power early the next day. In general, having no display causes issues in terms of information such as the mentioned battery power level and also what radio station / Album you are currently accessing. Loading music was easy on the other hand (Simple drag and drop through the windows environment). The sound quality was good but all in all there were too many sacrafices for me in other areas. Excellent value for an MP3 player that holds up to 500 songs. Songs and other media are loaded via Windows Media rom an XP or Vista OS. My 7 and 9 year old girls got the hand of the menus on Christmas morning and the clarity os more than good enough for most people. The screen is clear and enable easy selection of tracks and albums. A very sensible alternative to the iPod shuffle in terms of being cheaper and searchable.20

I have to say that this is one tougth bit of kit! I've worn mine on a motorbike, in all weathers, for the past 2 years without fauilt. I've even recently stuck it in the washin machine by accident - and she still plays!!!! (Although the battery is not what it used to be)My only criticism is that there aren't enough random/shuffle patterns.

I have to admit that now there are many multy functional devices on the market and this is not the top of technology, but it is small, looks good, sounds good, works perfectly as a radio and has a CD-player. Because I don't have much spare space and I don't need some noise-making super player, this is a perfect fit for my needs. What I think is that it is suitable for small places or for travelers or just for people who miss the simpler times. But one word of advice for EU users - you will need an adaptor because the player comes with a UK-plug.
