Great for the price

We wanted something to use now and then and for the price they work very well.

Awesomeness

I would recommend these earphones for anyone. I've been using these for at least five years after going through dozens of different in ear ones. I was even tempted to splurge for a set of Skullcandy ones, but these are the ones I trust. Yes, they are a tad on the large side and you can't change that, but they fit my ears so I like em! Perfect amount of bass when teh equaliser fails to give me what I need on my iPod. I no longer use the earphones that come with MP3's, I just use these. I've so far converted four friends to these sets and I still will! Although...maybe not from Amazon...cheaper in Clas Ohlson...

cheap and cheerful

Bought these and they worked beautifully... for 8 months. Now only one channel working. Moral of the story.... buy the higher priced ones to get some longevity.

Headphonetastic!

I have owned a pair of these headphones, which I bought at Currys, for a few years. I really don't understand why some folk give them such a low rating - I can only assume that they aren't setting them up and using them properly. I have in the past used them mainly for telly watching, so that I can get higher volume to mask tinitus problems that I sometimes get or so as not to disturb others at night as I'm a night owl. With the TV in particular I find the sterio separation pretty good, and as someone else remarked I found that I can pick up sound effects and audio details that aren't normally noticeable through the televisions own speakers. So, I was a bit confused with criticisms that the phones had no range and hissed a lot. So much so that I have just connected them tonight to my Hi-Fi. Well, they seem fine to me, as good as ever. I even had them pointing out through the window and went to the bottom of the garden - absolutely no problem whatsoever, the signal remained strong and clear!I'm enjoying listening to Tom Petty's Greatest Hits as I write this. The CD volume is turned right up - and the headphones only to about 25% of their maximum and the volume is about as much as I can take! All you have to do is ensure that you are within the field of the sender, possibly about 50-60 degrees or more. It's only if something is in the way that you get any hiss - leastways in my experience. (Don't forget, most infrared products have their limitations don't they?) This normally only happens to me when England are scoring a cracking goal and my wife decides to bend down in front of the screen!! I rate these 5 star and very good value, in fact I'm going to send for another pair. I once had a dearer Sony set but these are just as good if not better. Just one thing to add, they seem to work better in the kitchen/diner than in the living room: I think this may be because the signal bounces off walls, windows and floor tiles etc?! Simply don't work

High quality item but noise cancelling simply doesn't work - it just adds volume and hiss. The ear buds themselves block a lot of background noise. Try alternatives.

Good earphones

These are good earphones and fix pretty well to the ear for jogging - good value and decent enough sound

Sounds Good

These headphones are used by my wife while on a treadmill and are a really good comfortable fit. The sound quaility is as good as my expensive headphones, so for the price I have absolutely no complaints.

The product was good. came well packaged and for its price it is a good product. the delivery was also very fast it came within two days. if your looking for cheap priced earphones you i would say this is not bad

Philips semi-open simple headphones SBC HL145

These work well as expected. Not as good sound as the more expensive SBC HS430 (hang-on-ear, closed), but more convenient to put on and off.

Great sound, great design, okay fit!

These earphones are very good; well designed, with great sound quality. I first found these a while ago because my kittens decided it would be great fun to destroy my in-ear pair. I decided not to buy them after a while because I wear glasses, and so I didn't think they would fit. However, I decided to go for it anyway, because I'd work out how to wear them with my glasses eventually - but I didn't need to because there is actually a little groove in the plastic over the ear that your glasses can sit in! I was really happy with that!
The sound quality is awesome - I find now that I don't have to have my MP3 player turned up so loud to get the most out of my rock songs, which saves money in that it doesn't need charging as often, which makes me a very happy rocker. I also can hear the bass guitar in songs where I couldn't before because there were so many lead guitars; doesn't that say something about the quality?
The only downsides (and there are only TWO that I can think of) are that they don't fit especially well on my ears. I can get them hooked over my ears quite easily, but it isn't uncommon for them to slip off, which is annoying because they take me longer to put back on than in-ear headphones. I'm not sure whether my ears are smaller than average or not. My glasses also tend to push them off sometimes, but that's likely to be because I don't pay much attention to placing them on the headphones correctly. I only really use the headphones when I am relaxing, though, like laying down or something similar, so that's probably why they tend to fall off. The other downside is that the wiring looks very delicate where it attaches to the actual earpieces and I am scared of breaking them because I tend to be quite heavy-handed. Whether this wiring actually IS delicate is unbeknownst to me; I'm just very cautious because these cost me a lot of money. (Well, its a lot to ME anyway, I'm still in full-time education...)
Overall, I think these are great headphones, but you should obviously be careful with them. Treat them well and they'll treat you well, you know?

Good 'phones, poor connector

I got a pair of these a while ago, and they've got great sound, very comfortable. The bass is very good. Only problem is that the jack connector is AWFUL - mine corroded and fell of in about a week. Since then, I've had to solder two new connectors on. Unfortunately, its for this reason that I cant really recommend them. Unless you like soldering.

Terrible

I don't know what fit of madness possessed me when I bought these headphones. They sound dreadful. I would only recommend you buy them if you are totally deaf.

Very Happy

I purchased these earphone when my Sony ear buds broke and i'm very glad I did, I'll never buy ear bud type ear phones again. The philips SHL9600 are so much better in every way possible, I can only compare them to what I have used in the past either Sony ear buds and Technic DJ headphones - which are good but way to big and heavy for outdoor usage. My new philips are light,look good,feel comfortable and most importantly sound great.

Price's for the phones differ I brought mine from Ecodis via Amazon for £18.99 but have seen them for £50. I would recommend these for MP3 usage and obviously try and get for the best price possible.

Just the job!!

Have previously bought the white version of these headphones, but wanted black to match my bluetooth mp3 player. They work a treat - adjustable and descreet.

simply the best

Simply the best headphones i've had at any price. I agree it is annoying if you lose the rubber bits - keep hold of the supplied spare pair like gold dust. They don't make them any more and I've already lost one pair, so I'm buying all the others I can find. Corner the market! I'm only glad some people don't get on with them so there are still some left out there.
