Review for Philips Multimedia SPA3300/00 Speaker 2.1:
Not Recommended
I bought these speakers from argos a couple years back now, and after a few months of having them, one speaker stopped working so I had to position the plug for the speakers into the sub just right to get sound out of both speakers, but then it doesn't sound right as it's splitting, what was meant for one speaker, across 2 speakers. Also the remote gets a bit naff after a few months, it's within the first quarter of turning that it crackles and sometimes doesn't stop until you move it again, and one more thing, turn them up a bit loud (not deafening loud but good loud) and the speakers cut out so you have to turn them off and on again. I'm avoiding philips as I've had quite a few of their products headphones, speakers, mp3 players etc. and they've all crapped out. So I'd recommend a well known brand thats known for reliability, as they will be good, no matter what the price :)36
Review for PHILIPS amBX SGC5103BD/12 2.1 Premium Kit - PC Loudspeakers & Ambient Light:
Driver support is horrible, and there is no improvement expected on short term.
This product has potential, but alas due to the crappy support it is unable to achieve it.

Review for PHILIPS amBX SGC5103BD/12 2.1 Premium Kit - PC Loudspeakers & Ambient Light:
Not too great
I got this set last year (2007) and I'm REALLY dissapointed. If you use a x64 operating system, don't even bother buying them: they won't work.Driver support is horrible, and there is no improvement expected on short term.
This product has potential, but alas due to the crappy support it is unable to achieve it.

Review for Philips SBC BA250 Mini Speakers:
apartment where you can't play to loud. The bass is ok but
not something that will bring your neighbors at door.
I am only missing a treble control.
I will primary use these with my portable computer and also with
my Korg PXR4 guitar effect processor. I then will be able to
practice guitar without worring about complains from my
neighbors. I can also connect a headphone to the output in front.
The speakers are quiet but of course if you set the volume at max there
will be some hizz sound when not playing music.
I first bought a 2:1 set of Altec Lansing speakers VS4121 with
seperate subwoofer. But the first evening I played some music
a bit lound with them one of my neighbors complained.
It is not easy being a heavy metal electric guitar player
living in a apartment, some day I will have my own house:))
If you want BIG sound with"BANG!BANG!" bass sound these speakers
are not for you. You then should buy a 2:1 set of speakers with
a seperate subwoofer.

not something that will bring your neighbors at door.

Review for Philips Sbcba 109 Loudspeakers:
Lasts long, using 4 x AA batteries. Additionally they can be powered though an adaptor socket on the back (but you need to buy an adaptor seperately).
Standard 3.5mm jacks on adequately long cables...but not too long that you'll be trailing them behind you when you're on the move. The left speaker plugs into a 3.5mm jack in the right speaker. The right speaker acts as the power centre, containing the batteries in a slot on the back, and a power button the front which lights red when powered on. Detachability of left and right speakers mean you can take just one speaker with you to make for a lighter load.
Nice design, with a groovy plastic speaker grill on the front. Nice shape, with a flat front and side and a semi-circle curvature around the top to the back and bottom. The right speaker (containing batteries) is a bit heavy, but not uncomfortably heavy...plus it's a sacrifice if you want power. Speakers are ported with an padded air hole at the bottom front, helping to maximise bass.
Negatives? Well only a few. No cable management, like a wrap-around or reel. Also, you can't 'clip' the speakers together so that they hold as one unit - this would help during transport.
Overall, impressive sound quality. Good bass! Cool looking. Functional.

Powerful & Funky!
Active speaker system with an RMS of 2 watts. Can be used passively without batteries. Although it's only 1 watt per speakers, the bass, clarity and amplitude is impressive!Lasts long, using 4 x AA batteries. The philips 1.3 mega pixal webcam is a good quality but you can get better webcams for a bit more money. I paid £45 at the time near the end of 2007 and now when i done this review 13th March 2008 you can get a 5 mega pixal webcam for £65 so have a look around befor you buy.
